Support urged for Window Widgets’ comedy fundraiser

Gary Morton, founder of the charity GM Fundraising, has encouraged people within the glass and glazing industry to fully support the Little Pink Book of Jokes, a charity initiative spearheaded by Window Widgets for its 21st business anniversary. The forthcoming publication will feature submissions from across the industry, and is supported by sponsorship.

“This is a wonderful, selfless and thoughtful gesture, not to mention a novel way in which to celebrate an important business anniversary,” said Gary. The publication will be designed, printed and distributed by Window Widgets, which will cover the entire cost. The business aims to raise a minimum of £21,000, which is to be split equally between GM Fundraising and a charity called We Mind and Kelly Matters. The Window Widgets team also hopes to publish a separate children’s activity and joke book, for distribution among local schools, and by request to other schools across the UK.

Gary added: “As one of the beneficiaries for this creative campaign, GM Fundraising will be fully supportive in helping raise much-needed funds for us, but also for John Hewitt and his We Mind and Kelly Matters charity, so please, everyone, give this your full support.” Everyone across the glazing and fenestration sectors is encouraged to submit jokes for the Little Pink Book, which can be done by emailing jokes@windowwidgets.co.uk, visiting www.windowwidgets.co.uk/widgetscomedy or via social media, using the #WidgetsComedy hashtag. Money has already been pledged via the team’s online fundraising page, to help the fundraising effort gain early traction.

Sarah Hitchings, Window Widgets’ sales and marketing director, said: “We’re generating momentum by the week now, with this campaign and publication. It was important for us to celebrate this business milestone, but in a way that gives back to others associated with this industry, so we’re reaching out to everyone to get involved and to support these great charities.”
