Leaders and staff of the Climatec Group are celebrating 30 years in business. The team credits its success to prudent management and the sheer determination of the business’ directors, according to a representative of the business.
Twenty years ago, leaders of the company had just embarked on adding aluminium windows and doors to the firm’s portfolio, trading under the name Alu-tec UK. Five years later they rebranded three companies – two manufacturing facilities, Climatec Windows and Alu-tec UK, and the retail company, Climatec Home Improvements – to form the Climatec Group.
Still on the same Southend industrial estate, the business employs 170 staff in 60,000ft² of factory and office space. The firm’s fleet of vehicles is used for deliveries to 220 trade customers.
Steve Barker and Phil Bates began fabricating PVC-U windows in a small factory unit with just five staff members. They reported that at that time, everyone chipped in with all aspects of the company’s working processes: fabricating, driving, office admin and even making the tea. Solid supplier relationships have ensured than high-quality products are available for the group’s customers, the business’ representative explained.
The business’ relationship with its profile supplier, Rehau, is one of the firm’s more longest standing partnerships. The Climatec team used Rehau’s S702 profile (now known as the Tritec 60mm window) to make the firm’s very first window.
“It was great for Rehau to be given the opportunity to take part in Climatec’s 30th anniversary celebrations,” said Martin Hitchin, Rehau’s CEO. “As their business partner for the last 30 years, it has been a pleasure to see Climatec’s business grow from strength to strength.
