Tommy Trinder launches industry-first photorealistic feature

Tommy Trinder has launched an industry-first feature, allowing homeowners to see a realistic digital version of their replacement windows.

“Selling replacement windows and doors has relied heavily on a homeowner’s imagination, until today,” says Tommy Trinder founder and CEO, Chris Brunsdon. “Our new ‘Bring it to life’ button makes the dream real – showing homeowners exactly how their new windows and doors will look with a ‘true-to-life’ degree of realism, that would have been technically impossible just months ago.”

While standard visualisation tools allow retailers to composite new window and door designs over photos of a customer’s house, the results often look flat or computer-generated. ‘Bring it to life’ moves the needle, utilising advanced rendering to seamlessly blend products into the real-world environment of the photograph with somewhat mind-boggling results.

Key Enhancements Include:

  • True-to-Life Glass Reflections: The tool dynamically calculates and adds physically accurate reflections to the glass based on the specific outdoor environment of the photo.
  • Interior Depth & Transparency: Rather than opaque ‘fake’ glass, “Bring it to life” creates a realistic reflection-to-transparency balance, allowing subtle, natural views into the home’s interior.
  • Environment Matching: The feature automatically matches the lighting, shadows, and colour grading of the original scene, ensuring the new frames don’t look “pasted on.”

A core technical challenge for team Tommy in developing ‘Bring it to Life’ was maintaining strict design preservation alongside photorealistic enhancement. Rigorous testing has ensured that product specifications such as style, hardware, sash alignment, glazing bar configurations etc., are retained with a high degree of accuracy through the transformation process.

Designed seamlessly into the platform’s easy-to-use interface, the feature requires no technical expertise from the salesperson. Users simply prepare their standard ‘makeover’ image in the Tommy Trinder portal and click a big, purple ‘Bring it to life’ button. Within moments, the platform returns a fully enhanced, presentation-ready image that can be saved directly to the customer’s quote.

Says Chris: “By removing all guesswork for the homeowner, ‘Bring it to life’ empowers installers to close sales faster, justify premium product choices, and deliver a thumping, great  “wow” factor that sets them apart from the crowd.”
