Top 10 achievement

distinctionDistinction Doors reports that it has just been named in the top 10 SME businesses in the Sheffield City Region, in a list compiled by local publication: The Star Business, sponsored by Barber Harrison & Platt.

Chantel Roach, Distinction’s marketing manager, said: “We are delighted to make the top 10 SMEs in the region. Last year we were number 19 and the move up the rankings this year reflects how strong 2014 has been for us in all areas of the business.”

There are around 36,000 SMEs in the Sheffield City Region and Distinction Doors’ high ranking is said to reflect a ‘year of actions aimed at cementing the company’s position as the market leader in composite doors in the UK’.

The company has invested in its customer service, with initiatives including a new website focused on bringing in more leads for its customers. It has also extended stock availability in all areas, from glass to blanks. Finally, a new paint plant, costing £185,000, has been opened, allowing the company to bring this facility in-house and improve quality, lead times and cost.

Distinction has also added two new doors to its portfolio; the 70mm door, which is said to offer ‘superb’ thermal efficiency with a reported typical 37% improvement over a timber door, can also be over-rebated, meaning it can be a direct replacement for the PVC-U equivalent. Meanwhile, the One Lite bi-fold composite door is said to give fabricators and installers a ‘new and innovative revenue stream’ and homeowners a ‘sophisticated’ new option on the market.

Distinction Doors is celebrating ten years in business this year.
