Universal nomination

universal archesUniversal Arches has been nominated as a finalist in the G14 Awards for Commercial Project of the Year, in a joint entry with Dempsey Dyer, for the impressive refurbishment of a Victorian Mill in Leicester, incorporating 655 arched PVC-U window frames.

,The overall project, valued at £8.75 million, is believed to be the largest one ever involving the replacement of arched head PVC-U windows and was carried out over 12 months. ,Universal Arches is no stranger to the G-Awards, having been awarded G-09 Specialist of the Year on the back of its performance as a business and also its ‘influence’ on the bending sector. The statistics from the entry from Universal Arches and Dempsey Dyer show that the 655 frames took an incredible 1,875 production hours over a 26-week period.

,Leon Day, managing director of Universal Arches, commented: “I’m absolutely thrilled that we’ve been nominated as a finalist in such esteemed company and hope that the unique nature of the project just might make us worthy of the overall award. This was an incredible project to work on with Dempsey Dyer, a true partnership and I’m looking forward to a night celebrating the very best in our industry.”
