The trending trio

Mike Wilson, regional sales manager at Everglade Windows, discusses how the leading trade fabricator always goes one step further to stand out in a saturated market.

There’s no denying the surge in innovations we’ve seen across the fenestration industry over the past few years. From slimmer sightlines, enhanced thermal performance, colour options and configurations – delivering a portfolio of products that offer the unique features to stand out can be difficult.

Plus, with the rise in installers looking to add aluminium products to their portfolio (the number increased by nearly 10% in the last year), the opportunity to deliver is getting bigger, but the ability to create unique products that aren’t already available, is equally getting harder.

At Everglade Windows, we’re devoted to progressive thinking, so we’ve dedicated much of our resources to designing, developing and manufacturing a range of doors that our customers can’t find anywhere else. Our customer-first approach goes far beyond offering support and guidance, it provides products that deliver unique specifications, trend-led design, higher performance and greater quality.

Knocking on the door of innovation

No product range is complete without a bifold or sliding door – but what really makes one bifold door any different to another? While the key components of each door will always be the same, the team at Everglade Windows has always tried to go one step further to create products that not only go beyond stylistic preferences, but performance above all else.

Nicknamed our ‘trending trio’ of products, our three core doorsets – aïr 400SS Minimal Frame Sliding Door, aïr 180XLS Lift & Slide Door and aïr 900 Bifold Door – are the direct reflection of our continuous strides to innovate and keep customers at the forefront of the market, with superior specifications and commitment to design.

Along with customer feedback showcasing the enhanced value each door has brought to their product offering, all three doors have also been recognised in the Best Technical Innovation category at the GGP Installer Awards – demonstrating their unique ability to go one step further to deliver products that out-perform.

Delivering door to door

Our aïr 900 Bifold Door has always ticked the boxes of slim sightlines, low U-values and configuration options, but after tracking trends and listening to customer feedback, we knew we could take the door so much further. In order to do that, we re-built the door from the ground up, developing an authentic heritage steel-look bifold door that bridges the gap between technical performance and modern aesthetics.

With pre-gasketed ‘knock in’ beads, a steel-look sash and low line gaskets, our aïr 900 Heritage Bifold Door has helped our customers stay ahead of the homeowner demands for heritage styling and has proved to be a popular product for them all.

We adopted the same approach with our aïr 400SS Minimal Frame Sliding Door and aïr 180XLS Lift & Slide Door too. Looking to take our air 400SS to another level, our next generation Minimal Frame Sliding Door offers the option of either an 34mm or 20mm interlock, a range of configurations and greater ease of install on-site – with the added benefit of being beaded and site-bonded for easier transportation, installation and after-care. All of this has delivered a super slim, modern sliding door that guarantees maximum natural light and seamless indoor:outdoor living.

The same can be said for our aïr 180XLS Lift & Slide Door –  a glazing solution with extremely low U-values that helps installers meet the future demands of the home. As well as its impressive energy efficiency credentials, with U-values from 0.8 W/m²K, the air 180XLS benefits from super slim 50mm interlocking sightlines, the ability to have sash sizes to 3m x 3.6m and door panels as heavy as 400kg, as well as PAS 24 certification as standard.

For decades we’ve been committed to providing the products that are in a lane of their own, and our trio of award-recognised doors are just another example of our work to achieve that. On top of the continued technical and business support we provide our customers, our commitment to product research and development is what’s keeping them ahead in today’s competitive market.
