A ‘complete service’ for CE marking

buildcheckBuild Check Publications says it has added lots more support and advice for subscribers to The Oracle, its online fenestration resource. The home of The Oracle, www.buildcheckpublications.co.uk, now includes a ‘complete service’ to fabricators, installers and glass unit manufacturers to keep their CE marks current.

Build Check Publications has added a full advice centre around The Oracle to help keep visitors and subscribers legal and up to date with Building Regulations and changing legislation. This is said to be particularly important for CE marking, as minor changes to a window or door specification can require a new Declaration of Performance.

According to Build Check, The Oracle makes it much easier to update product information quickly. Subscribers can even store all their company information and Declaration of Performances for their CE marked products on their own dedicated page of the website, keeping them in the public domain in accordance with the regulation.

Subscribers can use The Oracle’s ‘U’ value calculator to work out the performance of windows and doors and there is also an acoustic calculator for windows. The website includes CE mark templates, with step-by-step advice and guidance to help subscribers complete their own CE marks ‘simply and cost effectively’.

Richard Bate, technical director at Build Check, said: “The new website will continue to evolve with advice and information added constantly. Subscribers will receive industry updates and reminders on changes to regulations and important news, so they are always up to date.

“Many people believe that getting products CE marked is a one-off job, but any changes to product supply or specification must be reflected in the CE marking documentation. That’s why we have added the extra services to The Oracle.

“The website also includes advice and downloads written in response to customers’ frequently asked questions. Visit The Oracle advice centre at www.buildcheckpublications.co.uk.”
