£125,000 machinery investment

emmegiAs a start-up aluminium fabrication business, Liverpool based Alifast invested more than £125,000 in Emmegi machinery at the end of 2012 to help it build a reputation for quality products.

After just 14 months in business, the company is already producing around 200 frames per week and is now liaising with Emmegi to buy additional machinery to enable it to expand.

Managing director, Craig Edwards, said that he was delighted to have found a machinery partner which shared his own company’s values of quality and customer service. He commented: “The Emmegi machinery we’ve had installed is technically highly advanced and has helped us to combine quality manufacturing with valuable efficiency.

,“Equally importantly, the team at Emmegi have delivered the very best and most reliable customer care since we first started working with them, helping us to choose the right solution at the outset and then providing phenomenal after sales support. They provided comprehensive training to our team and have continued to respond quickly to any queries we have, sending an engineer within 24 hours to resolve any technical issues.

,“As a start-up business, we needed a machinery partner which could understand and support our objectives and Emmegi has proved the perfect choice.”

Emmegi supplied Alifast with a Phantomatic X4 four axis CNC machining centre, complete with a high powered electrospindle, which rotates continuously from 0º to 180º, to operate along the entire contour of the profile, and a Precision TS2 3 axes electronic double mitre saw. The Precision saw, for cutting any angle between 135º internally to a ground breaking 15º externally, offers greater accuracy on positioning and profile clamping than other machines and, as the name suggests, improved cutting precision.

These have been linked with Alifast’s LogiKal production and processing software by Business Micros Aluminium.

Ian Latimer, managing director of Emmegi, said: “We’ve demonstrated at Alifast that we are about more than just technical solutions. We are confident that our machines are the most advanced on the market but we also know that it is the support services we provide which really make the difference for fabricators.”

Alifast manufactures windows, doors and curtain walling in both the Technal and Smart systems and can provide a complete supply and fit or a supply only service for trade and commercial buyers.
