BBA joins Build UK

The British Board of Agrément (BBA) has joined Build UK as a professional services member. Build UK is a representative organisation for the UK construction industry, formed in 2015. It comprises clients, contractors and trade associations.

Emma Wiles, the BBA’s marketing director, said: “We believe in working with organisations and partners who share our vision to lead change. We look forward to building even stronger relationships with all members of Build UK as we do that together.”

Joining Build UK has further strengthened the board’s dedication to safety and quality in the construction industry, the BBA’s representatives have said. Emma added that the move was ‘another significant step’ for the BBA as it continued to work with industry to drive safety and quality throughout the supply chain.

Build UK represents more than 40% of the UK construction industry. According to Build UK’s representatives,  it has a focus on three key actions: improving business performance, increasing productivity and recruiting, training and retaining talent to enable the construction supply chain to improve the efficiency and delivery of projects.

Suzannah Nichol, chief executive at Build UK, explained: “By bringing together the whole of the construction supply chain, Build UK presents a strong voice for the industry and effectively influences government, clients and stakeholders. Our members understand the power of collaboration and how they can make a real difference to the way the industry operates.”
