Fit Show to host online CPD learning programme

Organisers of the Fit Show – a UK exhibition for businesses within the glass and glazing industry – plan to host a continuous professional development (CPD) learning programme online, later this month. The programme is exclusively for professionals within the fenestration industry, and is scheduled over two days, on 27 and 28 September 2021.

Curated by third-party seminar experts, 12th Man Solutions, the programme includes a mixture of live and pre-recorded CPD material. All sessions will be accessible online via fitshow.co.uk.

The programme is due to start at 10am on Monday 27 September with a welcoming keynote address from Nickie West, the Fit Show’s director. A selection of fenestration industry experts will then deliver over 12 hours of CPD content over the course of the two days.

Online attendees can expect a broad mixture of seminars and panel debates covering key industry topics. The sessions include the list as follows below:
• ‘Everything you need to know about changes to building regulations’ – delivered by a representative of Fensa;
• ‘Tackling mental health among the trades’ – delivered by Martin Coyd OBE, head of safety and wellbeing for Building
• Mental Health;
• ‘Innovation and smart technology in fenestration – presented by Giovanni Laporta, inventor and innovator of SmartReady, and a columnist of Glass and Glazing Products (GGP) magazine;
• ‘How installers can work smarter, not harder’ – by Elton Boocock, managing director of Business Pilot
• ‘The importance of performance ratings’ – presented by Liz Clarke, operations director of the British Fenestration Rating Council (BFRC);
• ‘Building a stronger sector from the inside out – tackling the skills gap’ with representatives of Fit for Trade, the British Standards Institution (BSI) and Roseview Windows; and
• ‘How to take a fenestration business from £0 to £2m in a year’ – delivered by Steve Hudson, managing director of Alutech.

The launch of the Fit Show’s virtual learning programme follows the team’s announcement that the Fit Show’s in-person event will take place next year (from 10 to 12 May 10 2022), instead of this September. Almost all of the brands who were scheduled to exhibit in September have moved to the new May dates. The 2022 show has received strong support ‘from every corner of the industry’, the Fit Show’s organisers claim.

Nickie said: “We have been working hard behind the scenes to develop a learning programme that will connect with our audience and deliver real value to our audience. We know that nothing replaces face-to-face when it comes to connecting brands with customers, but our virtual learning programme will create an extra touchpoint between now and our live event next May.

“Attendees can expect the same high level of CPD-approved content that we produce for Fit Show when it is delivered in the flesh, but via the online platform, Crowdcast. We’ll be announcing the full lineup of topics and speakers over the coming weeks.” To find out more about Fit Show’s online learning programme, and to book sessions, visit fitshow.co.uk.
