Judges of two award schemes have shortlisted Caribbean Blinds, an outdoor shading systems manufacturer, to win awards this autumn for its latest product, the Dominica Blind. Build It Awards 2022’s judges, who work in the self-build industry, shortlisted the company in two categories: ‘Innovation in Insulation’ and ‘Best Sustainable Technology or Product’. Judges of the Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils’ Innovation Awards named the company as a finalist in the ‘Construction Innovation’ category.

The Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils’ Innovation Awards ceremony is to be held at Wherstead Park, Ipswich, on 20 October. Winners of the Build It Awards 2022 are set to be announced at a gala dinner on 25 November.

Stuart Dantzic, managing director for Caribbean Blinds, said: “We are extremely proud that our latest product offering is being recognised by both industry and regional awards alike. The self-build and renovation sector represents an important route to market for our products and our team takes pride in not just innovative external shading solutions that create thermally and visually comfortable indoor spaces but expert advice and support to ensure our products are seamlessly integrated into each unique project.

“Like many other businesses, we have had to adapt and change our way of working over the last two years. We’re ecstatic that it’s paying off.

“We have seen how many local companies have made a considerable, positive contribution to their sector, whilst putting innovation at the heart of what they do – and we’re honoured to be celebrated amongst them all. These are the most recent triumph in a string of awards success this year and we’re keeping our fingers crossed for the finals in the coming months!”
