Magical Merlin

Sales of PVC-U windows are at record levels following a 22% increase in turnover at Merlin Network (Scotland).

Merlin Network (Scotland), part of the Saveheat Group, now plans further market expansion with a £220,000 investment at its state-of-the-art design and manufacturing facility in Dalgety Bay, Fife. The company’s main market is Scotland.

“We have benefited from strong sales with our existing customers, whilst adding new customers too”, said sales and operations director, Colin Torley.

“There has been strong growth in the new-build market. In particular, sales of the Fully Reversible Window have been promising”, added Torley.

“Following the signing of a sole supplier agreement for Scotland with Prefix Systems, we have grown the business in the WARM roof and conservatory roof markets”, explained Colin.

Targeting further market expansion, Merlin Network (Scotland) will install a new six-head welding machine, Urban AKS6610/6, and create a purpose-built showroom at its state-of-the-art design and manufacturing facility in Dalgety Bay in April.

“The purchase of a new 6-head welding machine is the company’s largest ever single investment”, said Colin. “Our latest investment in high-quality machinery will increase capacity, as well as ensuring that our customers continue to receive high quality products”, added Colin.

The record results and investment details are revealed almost one year on from the formation of the Saveheat Group, following last year’s acquisition of Merlin Network (Scotland). The newly formed group also comprises Saveheat Glass, Blairs Aluminium Systems and Blairs Timber Windows.
