Merger creates Hull Glass Works

Specialist glass and mirror business Jack’s Glass, has united with stained glass experts Norman Harrap, both in Hull, to create Hull Glass Works. Leaders have forecast growth that will enable the new business to double in size, as well as provide more jobs for the area.

Three years ago, 40-year-old business Jack’s Glass was set to close. In a positive turn of events, the business has now been able to acquire Norman Harrap and Son, and the order books of both businesses have reportedly grown beyond recognition.

“Our highly-skilled specialists offer a wide range of niche glass services – from glass baubles, balustrades, splashbacks and stained-glass lampshades to mirrors and double-glazed units,” said Malcolm Linford, managing director for Jack’s Glass, as reported by Business Live. “If you need something made from glass, we can do it.

“Since buying the business, our order book has increased massively, and we need to be able to keep up with demand. We already employ 11 people and our aim is to double in size during the next few years. Our new premises will enable us to expand. It will be a great home for our new large machinery and provide us with much more space to work and store items.”
