Target Windows takes on Three Peaks challenge

The Target Windows team plans to hike 24.5 miles across the Yorkshire Dales on Saturday 21 August, taking on the mountains of Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-ghent to complete the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. The team aims to raise £500 for the charity Dogs Trust, through its online fundraising page.

Target Windows, a family-run business operating for almost 40 years in Staffordshire, started working with Dogs Trust in 2011. In just over 10 years, its staff completed 15 projects at Dogs Trust kennels. The projects involved installing specially adapted windows and doors in the charity’s rehoming centres, to help create a comfortable environment for the dogs.

Guy Basnett, director of Target Windows, said: “They were spending a lot of extra money, making and ordering acoustic barriers out of expensive hardwood, to keep the noise from the barking down to a minimum. We suggested that they could change these to PVC-U, which are maintenance-free and a lot cheaper. From that job, we have completed many installations, from refurbishments of existing centres to installations at new ones. We have the ability to help insulate the dogs’ kennels and to also help to create a comfy environment for them, which is fantastic, because we’re all dog lovers!”

The team consists of Mick Tune, installation director; Nicola Green, installations office manager; Guy Basnett, director; Sam Plant, commercial manager; and Jodie Plant, order processor. To support their efforts, click here for the fundraising page.
