Production man

Veka Recycling has appointed Steve Poulten as production manager.

With a production engineering background, Steve’s remit is to introduce structures that cope with changes within the company ‘as it transitions from a basic recycling business to a full production operation’.

Steve, who has spent time in the aerospace sector, will oversee the company’s recycling operations, including Veka Recycling’s extrusion line. Such has been the growth in demand for the high quality recycled polymer pellet, that the company is now working on a 24/7-shift cycle to cope.

Steve is also determined to develop existing staff and to recruit new people to the team as the company is now the largest subsidiary operation of the parent Veka Umwelttechnik GmbH, the pioneer of PVC-U recycling in Europe.

“Steve brings with him a fresh approach with experience gained in the precision-oriented aerospace sector,” explained Tony Cattini, Veka Recycling’s managing director. “Our business has become the largest PVC-U recycler in the UK by some margin and Steve’s engineering background will take us through the next phase in the company’s development.”
