Robert Thiroff, managing director of Profine UK, has won two regional business honours as part of the 2023 East Midlands Leadership Awards. As well winning the overall Leader of the Year award, Robert was announced as the winner of the Transformational Leader category, at a ceremony held on 23 March. Additionally, Robert was shortlisted for the Company Leader (100+ Employees) award. The ceremony took place at the Crowne Plaza, Nottingham.
The Transformational Leader award acknowledged Robert’s achievements in turning around a business acquired by the Profine group in 2020 which had twice fallen into administration under two previous owners. Judges were told that Robert and the Profine team had successfully reversed the fortunes of the business, taking it from making a loss to increasing profitability by 350%, winning back customers and safeguarding more than 200 jobs.
The overall Leader of the Year award is not open for nominations and instead is selected by the judges from 11 separate category winners. The chosen recipient is an individual or organisation that judges feel embody outstanding leadership.
