Warmroof goes double

The Warmroof hybrid roof from Prefix Systems will now be made available with a double glazed unit as standard, reportedly providing installers with significantly lighter units to handle on site.

Prefix says that the Warmroof system has been designed to be the ‘ultimate solid and tiled roof system in the market’ and the hybrid variant has brought full length glazed units from eaves to ridge into the overall design, allowing for a greater passage of light in the room.

According to Prefix, the addition of double-glazed units as a standard offering has been a popular change, but the upgrade to triple glazing is still available for consumers who wish to have the most thermally efficient option.

Prefix claims that the new double-glazed units have a ‘U’ value of 1.0 W/(m2K). The company has also recently standardised a plaster-board finish to the inside reveals of the glazed hybrid elements in the roof, for an appearance typical to that of a standard extension construction, yet with the benefit of large glazed areas.

Chris Baron, co-director of Prefix Systems, commented: “Warmroof hybrid is the benchmark in terms of roof configurability and overall design. As is the way at Prefix, we listen to the needs of our customers and so the move to a double glazed unit as standard will make on site installation and handling far easier given the weight reduction.”
