Five is fab for Shepley

Shepley Shepley has switched to Rehau’s thermally efficient five chamber profile for all of its fully sculptured white windows, giving customers what it describes as ‘all the benefits of better energy performance with no compromise on styling’.

The trade fabricator, which is reportedly one of the largest in the UK fabricating exclusively in Rehau, has been offering five chamber profile on its chamfered windows for some time and claims the response has been so positive, that it has now made the switch for its sculptured windows as well.

The Rehau Total70S profiles (previously known as Rehau Edge) feature five chamber technology which can boost thermal performance by up to 16%. This is reportedly enough to achieve a fully reinforced ‘A’ rated window, without requiring either low iron glass or an oversized outer frame.

Ian Griffiths, Shepley’s sales director, said: “The energy savings which can be achieved by switching from three chambers to five shouldn’t be underestimated. Even with a standard low cost glass unit in our new Rehau Total70S fully sculptured window, we can achieve an impressive ‘U’ value of 1.3 and, with an argon filled triple glazing unit, we can bring it down to just 0.8 W/m²K.”

The new profile offers easy to glaze beads and improved drainage and a larger reinforcement chamber so extra rigidity can be achieved, when required, for structural stability. It also reportedly suites ‘perfectly’ with Shepley’s previous three chamber option and foiled sculptured profiles, making it easy for customers to match in on new or even previous projects.
