New profiles for composite doors

Rehau has announced that its new composite door outer frame profiles are now available to the whole of its fabricator network.

In line with Rehau’s policy of providing a total product offering, it has added two new profiles to its range for composite doors. Customers now have a new 62mm profile suitable for use with a 44mm door slab and a new transom for fabricating a fixed light above, as well as an existing 72mm outer frame profile, so that they can choose the solution which suits them best.

Marketing and technical director, Gareth Jones, said: “The profiles help to complete our range at a time when the composite door market is continuing to boom. Rehau customers can now offer the slimmer sightlines which many prefer with composite doors and, at the same time, offer profiles which suite perfectly with Rehau Total70C side lights and matching window installations.

“Our technical team have ensured that the new profiles meet all of the requirements of our customers so, for example, they are suitable for producing a door with a DER ‘A’ rating and they are available in a wide range of colours from stock.”

Additional benefits of the new profiles are that they work neatly with all of the most widely used low thresholds on the market and feature standard brush pile height.

The new transom can be either mechanically jointed or welded and, because it is part of the Rehau Total70C range, it is compatible with a wide choice of glazing beads so that customers can choose any size of glazing unit for the fixed light.

Gareth added: “Customers selling a whole house of windows and doors can now offer Rehau profiles throughout without compromising on any aspect of the fabrication or the installation. It’s one more step in our efforts to offer the widest range of profiles and to give Rehau customers a solution for every application.”

The new door profiles, which were previewed at last year’s FIT show, have, until now, only been available to buy as finished frames from a limited number of specialist door manufacturers but Rehau is now making them available to all of its customers.

A dedicated technical manual for fabricators is available from Rehau’s regional sales offices.
