The Comp Door team has achieved the BSI Kitemark to BS 8529:2017 and PAS 24:2022. “We’re the first to achieve this,” said Pierre Mifsud, Comp Door’s technical director. “I’m so proud of the fantastic team at Comp Door that made this possible.”

The certification means that Comp Door can supply all contracts that have a requirement to comply with this standard for doors.

“What really stands out to me about this certification is that it has been achieved by such a new company,” Pierre added.

“We’ve always concentrated on innovation, and I have always known that our team have an extensive amount of industry expertise, but achieving this has shown that our hard work is being recognised by those across the sector.”

Since the business’ inception in November 2021, the Comp Door team has concentrated its efforts on investing in rigorous testing, aiming to be the first to comply with industry standards and remain competitive within the industry, the company’s representatives have said.

Lorraine Balch, certification manager at BSI, added: “We are so happy for Pierre and his team who had applied for their kitemark to differentiate their product in the marketplace in 2022. By applying the kitemark to their doorsets they are demonstrating that they are wholly invested in providing their customer base with consistently performing quality products.

“It was fortuitous that the new version of the PAS 24 standard was issued just before their product testing was due to start, as they were able to ensure that all the latest changes were included within their test regime. We look forward to working with the team as they continue to grow and develop their products.”
