ERA: The one stop shop for casement windows

ERA, one of the UK’s leading home security and fenestration component providers, has extended its offering of friction stays and introduced trickle vents for casement windows. The move forms part of the firm’s commitment to providing fabricators with the widest portfolio of complementary, high-performance hardware.

Manufactured from durable stainless steel and suitable for PVC, timber and aluminium windows, the suite of friction stays includes standard, egress-only, egress easy clean and restricted versions, to aid fabricators in meeting the specific requirements of every project. Supplied with a 10-year mechanical guarantee and PAS 24-compliant when used in conjunction with a hingeguard in a compliant window system, the new range of friction stays aims to offer manufacturers the highest standards of durability and reliability.

Meeting the requirements of BS EN 1670:2007 Grade Four, the friction stays have been rigorously tested for corrosion resistance up to 240 hours. They also meet the requirements of BS 6375-1 and 2, to deliver first-class performance.

The latest range is bolstered by a dedicated offering of trickle vents for PVC-U casement windows that meet the minimum requirements of building regulations Part F1:2010 whilst also featuring improved dB noise reduction for increased performance. Available as 2500, 4000 or 5000 link vents, and supplied separately in a variety of colours, the vents provide fabricators with a mix and match offering to suit the internal and external finishes of each window.

Featuring a sleek, compact design that sits discreetly within the window, the canopy is limited to a 25mm extension. The aerodynamic construction directs airflow efficiently through the vent pathway.

The product is supplied with fixing clips already fitted, and the trickle vents can be installed within seconds, ERA’s representatives have claimed, adding that they easily push into place. The clip is said to automatically centre the vent, to ensure it is fitted level.

Kerry Blackford, head of product for ERA, said: “Our latest range of complementary friction stays and trickle vents are an integral extension of our window hardware offering. They have been expertly designed and engineered to support window manufacturers in achieving the highest standards of compliance and performance.

“By partnering with ERA, window fabricators can be confident that our comprehensive portfolio of window hardware and decorative furniture will meet each of their requirements whilst providing first-class quality and longevity.” For more information about ERA’s diverse portfolio of security products, visit eraeverywhere.com, call the sales team on 01922 490 000 or email info@eraeverywhere.com.
