Siegenia provides training support

Four members of staff from Abacus Agents completed two days’ worth of refresher and new product training in September. Abacus Agents, a glazing supplier based in Glasgow, Scotland, is one of Siegenia’s key distribution partners.

Led by Siegenia’s technical manager, Joe Ward, and assisted by members of technical, sales and marketing staff, the management and technical colleagues from Abacus were given a crash course on the German hardware company’s Titan tilt and turn window and the HS PORTAL lift and slide door gearings. They also learnt about KFV multipoint locks.

The training was delivered using a mix of classroom presentations and practical demonstrations and exercises. “It was a great opportunity for members of staff, old and new, from both companies, to get to know each other and to strengthen relationships,” said a Siegenia representative.

This training is part of a wider programme that the Siegenia UK team has been rolling out to its distributors over the last year. Around 75 hours’ worth of sessions have already taken place.

“Abacus was one of the first companies to take up the offer of training last summer,” the Siegenia representative continued. “The team saw the value of doing so once more this year.

“The training days have been introduced in order to keep up strong customer service levels between Siegenia, our partners and ultimately their fabricator customers. Training opportunities will be offered to the company’s main partners annually in order that skill and knowledge levels remain current and at the expected high level, so that new product innovations are communicated, and so that partners feel confident selling the Siegenia and KFV ranges, which can sometimes be considered a niche product.”

Ryan Thompson, Siegenia’s general manager, added: “Our high level of technical support and customer service is a key part of our brand. Exercises such as these with our sales partners can only improve that.

“The training days we have carried out over the last year have been a great success. We have seen an improvement in the relationship with and engagement of our distribution partners and an upturn in leads in different product lines as a result.”

Earlier this year, Siegenia successfully achieved the BBA standard for its Titan AF tilt and turn hardware range. To read our report on this, click here.
