A visitor of Distinction

His Royal Highness Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, has officially opened Distinction Doors’ new paint plant.

Chantel Roach, marketing director of Distinction Doors, said: “It was a great honour to welcome the Earl of Wessex to our site today and we are delighted that he officially opened our paint facility.”

During his visit to Distinction Doors, His Royal Highness was given a complete tour of the facilities and met key members of staff who explained the scale of the company’s operations. Prior to officially opening the paint plant, the Earl watched a door being sprayed. The visit ended with him unveiling a plaque to commemorate his visit, before signing the company’s visitors’ book.

“It was a wonderful surprise to be contacted by His Royal Highness’s office,” said Chantel. “It was felt that Distinction Doors represented a great success story and was therefore very appealing for an official royal visit.”

Distinction Door’s paint plant opened only a few months ago and the 1,000th door to be painted recently left production. Bringing painting in-house is said to have improved quality, lead times and costs for the company in this area.

Having celebrated 10 years in business last year, Distinction Doors was recently named in the London Stock Exchange Group’s 1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain for the second year in a row and was also listed in the 2015 Sunday Times Fast Track 100 list, which ranks Britain’s private companies with the fastest growing sales over three years.
