Charity ride raises cash for hospice

Charity ride

Charity rideDirectors of PDS, the UK door and window company, have successfully completed the Granfondo Stelvio Santini, a 151.3km cycling challenge in Northern Italy, raising £11,140 for Springhill Hospice in the process.

The early morning training sessions and long weekend cycles over the past eight months paid off for Tim Fairley and Pat Rice, who are said to have completed the challenge in ‘an excellent time’.

The pair took to twitter to announce their achievement; but not before appreciating the breath-taking views at the top of the Stelvio, and catching a snap of Springhill Hospice mascot ‘Springy’ who accompanied them on their excursion.

PDS has been a big supporter of Springhill Hospice in the past and the hospice was thrilled with the amount raised. A Springhill Hospice spokesperson said of the company’s fundraising efforts: “From the Santa Dash to Business Buddies, Go Green and now this amazing cycle ride, your fundraising is just phenomenal… We are honoured to have your support.”
