Framex invests for growth and service

Leaders of the aluminium specialist business Framex have doubled capacity with a brand new machining centre: the Elumatec SBZ118. The equipment was secured as part of a £400,000 investment intended to enhance the firm’s ambitious plans for growth as well as to further enhance the company’s offering and service for customers.

The Lancashire-based Framex team manufactures and supplies aluminium windows, doors and commercial glazing at the firm’s Waterfoot facility, which houses the manufacturing of 140 windows and doors per week, on average. The Elumatec SBZ118 machining centre is the second CNC machine that has been installed at the site in 12 months.

Framex’s customer base includes architects, builders and property developers across the north of the UK. The firm’s staff crafts windows and doors using Senior Architectural Systems’ profile, as well manufacturing Korniche roof lanterns.

“Demand for our products is growing quickly, so we decided to bring the investment forward to meet the needs of our customers,” explained Tim Mooney, Framex’s managing director. “The Elumatec SBZ118 is a great piece of kit that makes production more precise and more efficient. It’s also compact and fast; just what we needed so that we could double up on our machining capacity.”

Tim added: “Framex prides itself on quality and service. As we grow, we will continue to expand our facilities and portfolio for the benefit of our customers.

“Having the right equipment in place, piloted by the right peopl,e means we can achieve fast lead times and exceptional service, every time.”

Framex has grown significantly since the firm was established in 2020. The supplier’s team now manufactures a range of products, including bi-folds and sliding doors as well as slimline windows and commercial doors. The company’s leaders have plans to grow the Framex portfolio further this year by adding several new products.
