Sole supplier

Emmegi has become the sole machinery partner of aluminium systems house AMS, having reportedly demonstrated the quality of its machines, sales advice, technical support and after sales service over more than a decade.

The Cork based aluminium profile extruder, powder coater and sheet metal and trade frame fabricator bought its first Emmegi machine in 2006 and since then, Emmegi has gone on to equip AMS’ entire factory with a range of machining centres, saws, end millers, crimpers and factory ancillary equipment. This includes two Phantomatic T4As and one Comet T6 machining centres and several double head electronic saws.

The strength of the relationship between the two businesses means that AMS is happy to recommend Emmegi machines to customers who are looking to improve the quality and efficiency of their manufacturing, and Emmegi now regularly uses AMS’s production set up as a demonstration site for fabricators from across Ireland.

Damien Farrelly, AMS’s fabrication manager, says that the company recognises how vital it is to have a solid and reliable partnership in place with a machinery supplier like Emmegi who have a team based on the ground in Ireland. He said: “We know that the Emmegi team will take care of us and our customers – not just during the initial buying and installation process but right through to technical support and servicing.

“We offer our customers a complete, turnkey solution from extrusion to fabrication, and one of our key strengths is that we have total control over all the processes, so we need to know that our fabrication machinery is top quality and that we have all the service and maintenance back up we need from highly skilled engineers.”

For AMS, one of the key benefits of using Emmegi machines is the user-friendly proprietary software provided. Damien Farrelly added: “The ‘Camplus’ software which comes with the machining centres displays both the profile and the tool in a 3D format which makes it relatively easy for the operator to carry out the necessary programming.”

From Emmegi’s perspective, a significant feature of its relationship with AMS is the fact that it has its own well-established team in Ireland. As well as national sales manager Jim O’Connell, Emmegi also has two engineers who look after customers across North and South.
