Birmingham-based window and door manufacturer Shelforce has won the Business of the Year award at the Great British Business and Community Awards 2023. This latest award follows the news of the company being awarded a King’s Award for Enterprise in the promoting opportunity (through social mobility) category.

The Great British Business and Community Awards aim to shine a light on businesses, charities and individuals that have achieved, contributed, impacted and made a difference across Great Britain. Shelforce specialises in providing high-quality PVC-U windows and fire doors to local authority building projects.

In applying for the award, the Shelforce team demonstrated the business’ capacity to grow, plan for future development and to adapt, diversify and contribute to the community. Judges of the Great British Business and Community Awards were impressed with the Shelforce team, commenting on the business’ growth, inclusive approach to employment and training, and strong company culture.

The award was presented to Howard Trotter, business manages for Shelforce, at a black-tie award ceremony at the Hilton, Reading. He said: “To receive the Business of the Year award in the evening after the announcement that we had been awarded the King’s Award for Enterprise was a momentous day for Shelforce and the team. Being recognised for both our inclusivity and the manufacturing side of the business is fantastic, as both are the reasons behind our continued success.

“The Great British Business and Community Awards recognise businesses that have made an outstanding contribution across Great Britain, and we are delighted to win the award.” For more information about Shelforce, call 0121 603 5262 or visit shelforce.com.
